CBF, ALBAYanihan, and W4W PH Team Up to Ensure Safe Drinking Water in Tabaco Evacuation Centers

The Camalig Bank Foundation, Inc. (CBFI), as part of Camalig Bank’s Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Team, partnered with ALBAYanihan and Waves for Water PH (W4W PH) on 8 July 2023 to provide water filtration systems primarily for families temporarily taking shelter in evacuation centers in Tabaco City due to Mt. Mayon’s unrest.

Volunteers from CBF, CB, ALBAYanihan, together with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Tabaco City, represented by the lead Rural Sanitation Inspector (RSI) Mr. Victor Bertiz, with 19 family-evacuees in Pawa Evacuation Center during the turn-over of the water filtration bucket system on 8 July 2023

Various groups in Albay with similar advocacies to provide proactive interventions to sectors and communities affected by natural calamities have come together to help the community. The partnership served as the ESG Team’s contribution to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, specifically goals 6 and 13, ensuring availability and sustainable water and sanitation management for all and taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impact, respectively.
